Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat credited his positive mindset for his performances against Sri Lanka, where he scored 146 runs in the T20 International series.
Another positive prospect from the series was the performance of Mohammad Imran Randhawa, who finished as the leading wicket-taker with six scalps.
The pair discussed their performances with former Pakistan captain Salman Butt on a PCB Digital show, reflecting on their approach and plans for further improvement.
Sadaqat said representing Pakistan and performing at the international level gave him considerable confidence, adding that he had hoped to carry his form from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) into national colours.
“After the CPL, I thought about performing for my country in the same way,” he said.
The batter said he looked to remain positive from the start of his innings and played attacking shots when deliveries fell within his hitting range.
Randhawa, meanwhile, said he focused on maintaining a good line and length while using variations to challenge Sri Lanka’s batters.
The bowler said he also planned to work on his yorkers and bouncers with the new ball to expand his options in the future.
Randhawa added that he continued to play club cricket and aimed to spend as much time as possible on the field to improve his game.
