Robert Pattinson has teased what audiences can expect from The Batman: Part II, describing the upcoming sequel as a different take on the superhero film.
Pattinson, who returns as Bruce Wayne in the 2027 movie, told Collider that the sequel is “a real left turn from the first” film while retaining elements of its established tone.
“It’s so ambitious,” he said. “I mean, I sort of said the other day on something that the first one was a different take on a Batman movie, and this one is another… It’s a real left turn from the first one, but somehow it keeps elements of the kind of feel of it. But it just feels really ambitious, and I’m excited to see how it turns out.”
The actor is currently filming The Batman: Part II, which reunites him with director Matt Reeves following the 2022 original. Pattinson previously said he was excited to see how the new film develops.
The sequel will introduce several new cast members alongside returning performers. Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan have joined the franchise, while Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry are also set to appear.
Pattinson has had a busy 2026, with appearances in The Drama and The Odyssey already released. His portrayal of To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen in Primetime is scheduled to arrive on Friday, while Dune: Part Three is set for release on December 18.
Despite his demanding schedule, Pattinson said during the Venice Film Festival that he would have been “devastated to have dropped any of” his projects this year.
The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2027. Reeves returns as director, with Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne.
