Kevin Federline is facing a lawsuit over an alleged $117,704 debt to City National Bank, months after his child support payments from former wife Britney Spears came to an end.
The legal action concerns outstanding balances across a credit card, personal line of credit and overdraft facility.
According to documents obtained by Page Six, the 48-year-old former dancer signed the credit agreements in November 2024, around the time Spears made her final child support payment.
The bank claims Federline owes at least $117,704, alongside accrued interest. The lawsuit lists interest rates of 20.5 per cent on the credit card, 7.5 per cent on the personal line of credit and 18 per cent on the overdraft facility.
The documents state that the credit card balance was due by August 2026, while the personal line of credit and overdraft facility had earlier repayment deadlines in June 2025 and April 2025, respectively.
Federline previously received $40,000 monthly in child support while raising his two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, in Hawaii.
The amount was later reduced to $20,000 after Sean Preston turned 18, with payments continuing until Jayden graduated from high school.
In his memoir, You Thought You Knew, Federline said the money went towards security and maintaining the lifestyle his children had experienced with Spears. He claimed expenses “easily ran well over $40,000 a month”.
Spears and Federline finalised their divorce in July 2007. Their child support arrangement ended after both sons reached adulthood and completed high school.
