DI Khan, Bannu postpone SSC papers amid mobile, internet suspension

Date:

The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan have postponed the SSC Annual-II examination papers scheduled for October 7, 8, 9, and 10, according to the notifications issued by the boards.

BISE Bannu said the papers were postponed due to the prevailing security situation and the suspension of mobile and internet services, while BISE DI Khan said its SSC Annual-II Examination 2026 would now formally begin on October 12.

According to the notification issued by the BISE Bannu chairman on October 3, mobile and internet services had been suspended within the jurisdiction of BISE Bannu “due to the prevailing security situation in the area”.

The suspension of mobile and internet services was likely to cause “serious inconvenience to the parents, students, teachers and the Board administration”, particularly in the timely receipt and dissemination of roll numbers, duty letters and other examination-related communications, as well as in the dispatch of examination stationery to the respective examination centres, the notification said.

The prevailing circumstances may “adversely affect the smooth and transparent conduct of the scheduled examination,” it further added.

The chairman of BISE Bannu, being the competent authority, postponed the papers of the SSC Annual-II / Oriental Languages Examination, 2026, scheduled to be held on October 7, 8, 9 and 10. The notification said the schedule of all remaining papers would remain unchanged and they would be conducted strictly as per the already notified date sheet.

“The postponed papers shall be rescheduled subsequently, and a revised schedule thereof shall be notified separately by the Board,” it said.

All concerned were directed to take note of the decision and ensure its immediate dissemination among candidates, heads of institutions, supervisory staff and other stakeholders within their respective jurisdictions.

The SSC Annual-II Examination 2026, which was scheduled to begin on October 7 under the previously issued date sheet, would now formally commence on October 12, the statement added.

The statement further said that the Class 10 Physics paper scheduled for October 12 will be held at its scheduled time, while examinations will continue until October 27 in accordance with the issued date sheet. The board said papers scheduled for October 7, 8, 9 and 10 had been postponed.

New dates for the postponed papers would be announced later through a separate notification or press release, it added.

The board directed superintendents, deputy superintendents and relevant examination staff at all examination centres to ensure their presence at their respective examination centres and banks on October 9 for “Preparation Day”.

Students were directed to ensure their presence for their respective papers at the scheduled time from October 12 in accordance with the previously issued date sheet. BISE DI Khan also appealed to students, parents, heads of institutions, and examination staff not to pay attention to any unverified information or rumours regarding the examinations and to follow only information issued through the board’s official sources.
